Why shipment milestone logs display the scan timezone of the package's physical location.
What is "Local Scan Time"?
When tracking your Pandoon Express shipment, all milestone events, scans, and customs reviews in the **Travel History** log are recorded and displayed in **Local Scan Time**.
This means the date and time shown for a specific scan correspond directly to the **local timezone of the facility or port where the package was scanned**. For example, a package scanned at London Heathrow Airport at 03:16 AM is logged at 03:16 AM British Summer Time (BST), even if you are tracking the package from California (Pacific Standard Time).
Why does Pandoon use Local Scan Time?
- Prevents Chronological Confusion: During international shipping (e.g. crossing the Pacific Ocean or Atlantic Ocean), conversion to a single timezone would make scans look out of order or artificially delayed.
- Verifies Customs Hand-offs: Local scan times match the direct physical custody receipts logged by customs authorities at international seaports and airport hubs.
- Operational Accuracy: Corresponds precisely to operational dispatch logs, carrier shift transitions, and delivery truck route timing.
